It’s hard to feel beautiful on a Monday.
You wake up late, still hungover from a weekend of fun, forced to go back into the work and grind. You don’t have time to pick out a great outfit or fix your hair the way you like it. You still feel guilty over the mistakes you’ve made – the same ones you made last weekend.
You may not see something beautiful staring back at you in the mirror. You may not see a beautiful day ahead outside your window. You may not be able to see through the fog of shame you carry with you.
Maybe you could use a little Monday Morning Music.
You may not bring a lot to the table. Good news. You don’t have to.
You have a God who can multiply the meager into something magnificent. That’s math you can get behind. Even on a Monday.
As Ellie Holcomb sings on “The Broken Beautiful”:
You say that You’ll turn my weeping into dancing
Remove my sadness & cover me with joy
You say your scars are the evidence of healing
That You can make the broken beautiful
If your life is a big mess, take comfort in a God who specializes in cleaning up messes.
Know this: It does not matter how you feel or what you may have done. God still sees you as beautiful. He still sees value in your life. He still wants to use you today.
May you have eyes to see the beauty in you, in others, and in the broken world around you this Monday.
(If you haven’t already, go pick up Ellie Holcomb’s first full-length album As Sure As The Sun on iTunes. It’s full of music sure to lift your spirit on a Monday morning or any other day of the week.)
