Today, the 4th of July, we celebrate the true American heroes – The American Gladiators:

Not to take anything away from the men and women who fight everyday to protect the United States.

I just don’t think the men and women who fought every Sunday morning on syndicated television defending the gladiator arena get enough love.

After all, American Gladiators taught me an important lesson during my youth: Life is a maze. 

As you try to reach the finish line, you will inevitably run into dead ends. You’ll also run into gladiators around every corner looking to beat you down.

But you don’t give up when you hit a dead end or get bashed down by a musclehead in red, white, and blue spandex.

You get back up. You keep running. You keep trying different paths until you find the one that leads to victory. 

Whether you’re looking for the right job, the right partner, the right house, the right workout plan, the right way to live this life – keep running the maze.

When you hit a wall don’t lie down in defeat.

When Gemini or Nitro or Blaze whacks you with their jousting stick, remember this: the weapons they use really aren’t that tough anyway, especially when you wear the armor of God.

Get back on your feet. Reassess your options. Keep pressing on until you make your way across the finish line.
